Daily Reading on the Financial Markets: 1/15/13

At The Daily Capitalist, DoctoRX comments on the disturbing lack of fear in the equity markets at present, saying this lack of fear is exactly what the market should fear.

John Hussman has been bearish for over a year, and nothing has changed, as he classifies the current climate as among the worst times to invest.  In his words, Bulls are attempting to “declare victory at halftime.”

At Humble Student of the Markets, Cam Hui notes the many signs of excessive bullishness, but believes there may be a little more upside to catch while “keeping a close eye on the exit.”

Those who know me, know that “The Gulag Archipelago” is among the books that most forcibly impacted my thinking; along those lines, Washington’s Blog notes the many ways in which U.S. Government continues its slide towards the  social tyranny that government, hungry for ever-expanding power, inevitably finds irresistible.
